That square hat

Yes, yours truly have finally graduated~!! (and it was a few months ago..... - -") Had been kept busy with trips with my family who came down for my graduation & the start of yet another learning experience, which I hope I would still be sane by the end! =P

So back to my graduation day, it was all the way back in April~!! this just shows how slack I am in coming up to date with a post on the happenings that is happening~!! And also, my laptop couldn't seem to read the CD which contained the photos of my grad day & the trips with my family and only managed to do so after trying like a gazillion of times! Anyway, I would still write this because its something I would like to read back a few years on & also to update my dear friends back home who were not here! We should have had a biggg celebration~!! =D hehe Although having said that, the hype of graduating was already wearing off by the time it reached graduation day, especially knowing its not the end of my uni days yet hahaha~ I was still happy & excited, it was my first graduation ceremony anyway =D

My family, also my brother, flew down to Melb a few days before my graduation day. Nick was already in Melb =) Housemates Joanne, Kenny, RIchard & Ricky, also Jocelyn Quek, they all put some time aside to come with me & take pics before I had to go into the grad hall for the ceremony.

With Dad, Mum & bro who came all the way for this!

With Nick! Sometimes I used to wonder if you could make it to come for my grad day, and I'm really glad that you were here =)

Kenny, Joanne, Jocelyn Quek, Nick, Ricky & Richard. I've had so much fun with all of them.

A very happy graduate! Me!

Proud parents =)

Thanks everyone, I really couldn't ask for more! =D

Graduation ceremony was quite draggy I'd say, speeches & and countless graduates going up to the stage to receive their scroll before it was my turn. Nevertheless, it was a great feeling to get my transcript ceremoniously although it barely lasted for a minute when I was on the stage! So that marks the end of me being a university undergraduate student.

Dearly missed

I was going to write a long post on my graduation but I came across a post I wrote afew years back about my grandmother. & I missed her so dearly. I miss the times she would remember my name despite her slowly losing her memory as a result of ageing, I miss the happiness as I feed her & watch her finish her food, I miss seeing the swell in her leg subside as this would mean less pain, I miss doing the occasional silly things that would make her laugh as she tries to answer me silently. She never once got angry at me even if I wasn't at my best behavior as a child & would always put more raisins & peeled oranges in my rice pudding because I didn't fancy rice pudding and oranges & raisins in it were the highlight of the dish. This heartache, I realise that sometimes we take the good or best things in life for granted. I know she is looking over me.

Nine Million

wanted to do a continuation of the events but my laptop can't seem to read the CD which has the pics of my trip to tazzy & sydney and also my grad day pics =(( so I'll talk about something else while I figure that out!

"There are six BILLION people in the world
More or less
and it makes me feel quite small
But you're the one I love the most of all"
-Katie Melua, Nine Million Bicycles

I usually don't put song lyrics on my blog because I'm not very sure of the correct way to quote them but I hope the above is sufficient. Sometimes I find it amazing that there can be so many people in this world or around us yet two people could only have the heart for each other. I read somewhere or remembered from a conversation with the saying that the funny thing about love is its not just about feeling, its about doing the right thing always for the one you love. And I feel that its very true, I'm not just talking just about a relationship with a partner, I also mean with family members and the other people who are close to you. When I think about it, i know my family always loved me and I can't exactly count or say the things they have done for me because they always have my best interest at heart and it goes around because I would do the same for them without even them asking or expecting. I think the first person who made me realise this, besides my parents of course, is my grandmother. Sigh I reallyyy miss her! I can't remember exactly when or how, it was just snap and I know I would always try to be my best for her. The same goes to the other important people in my life. I am always learning each day. Compromise. Considerate. Patience, Thoughtfulness. ladida. Sometimes its a million small things rather than one big thing that matters.

Today as I was singing to myself some songs I came across the sentence life is too short. And I realised that sadly, life really is short. Somehow at the back of my head I have the notion that we'll live til 70 (which is the average age I'm guessing?- -" lol) and to think that I'm actually 1/3 way there is abit frightening. But what if something happens along the way & that would make me more than 1/3 way there (choi! tai ka lai si!- -" not that I really know what it means but its something along that line hahahaha). So I'll make it a point to see the bright side of things everyday & appreciate the people around me before its too late. I suppose it isn't possible to stay cheerful all the time but 6 days of happiness out of 7 days in a week is much better at any time, isn't it!

Daddy & Mummy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary recently. Silver! Since I couldn't be there to celebrate an occasion which deserves a good celebration with them, I made a card. I guess anyone who is close enough to me would know that I only make cards for the people who are close to me and who are important in my life! I spent almost a whole day doing this trying to get some inspiration for ideas and also carefully matching the colours. I chose a silver background because its their silver anniversary after all! =D

For mummy & daddy =D I am so grateful to have parents who loves each other & who are so loving =))) i love you both so much!

The holidays

Again as a result of me procastinating, and enjoying my holidays a little too much, its been awhile since my last post! I don't know where to start from and whether my memory would serve me well enough to remember what I have been up to. Let's start in chronological order since it seems to be the most logical thing to do - -" poyo I know, poyo!

1. TwentyTwo
Gosh I didn't even realise that I am now no more a -teen and am already past the two decade age. In fact, I am twenty two!!! I still think I am young though hehhh. I also just realised that this would be the third time I've celebrated my birthday in Aussie, how time flies. Sometimes I wish I could be back to celebrate such occasions with my family & friends, yet I guess I am just trying to look at the positive side of things and making the best of each day that passes by. This year, I celebrated my birthday at my aunt's place because she asked me to & invited some of her friends over so I also invited a few friends of my friends! I wanted to help prepare some food so Nick was my chef for the day. Dished out an awesome pasta salad and potato salad! To give myself credit, I did the peeling, some of the cutting and also, squeezing the mayo and sauces into the big big bowl of salad! =P

I had two birthday cakes! One was tiramisu made by my aunt (right) while Cassie & Ashley brought another cake (left) too. Both were delicious!!!

Making a(few) wish(es) before cutting the cake

Friends who came minus Cassie & Ashley who were not in the pic because they had to go back earlier. Kenny, Joanne, Sookie, Me, Nick and Ricky plus the two dogs which belongs to my aunt.

The next morning, Joanne, Kenny, Sookie, Richard, Nick and me went to this dimsum place called Taipan which was just opposite my aunt's place for brekkie or a second round of celebration, friends only! =D

Then I also had another birthday dinner at Crowns in the city since some of the others were living in/close to the city.

Clockwise: Renald, Steph, Nick and me

Thank you everyone! I feel loved! =D

2. The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant
It was one of the nicest dining experience I had and would recommend. Not fine dining, but dining in a cosy atmosphere in an old tram which rides around the city.

Said colonial tram.

Nick bought me dinner at the Tramcar restaurant. I was brought to the tram stop where everyone else who booked to have dinner in the Tramcar restaurant were waiting for the tram. As I looked around, almost all of them were like older couples of families with children like in their mid 20s-30s - -" It surely did feel abit odd being in the crowd lol. I wish I had booked my parents on this restaurant when they were on their holiday here recently. Sigh... next time I hope!

Something really funny happened to me during the tramcar ride. Before the tramcar ride, I was told to "not eat (lunch) until so full" so that I can enjoy the food during dinner later. So I went onto the tram restaurant with a pretty much empty stomach and dinner started with the appetiser which was some crisp bread served with pate and capsicum dip. Unlimited champagne, wine and some other alcohol were also available. So we were first served champagne which I happily drink before having my appetiser since I'm not a fan of liver pate anyway. While munching away the crisp bread and the dip, we were also served white wine which I then proceed to drink alternating with the champagne in between. By the time the appetiser was finished and while waiting for my entree or main course, I started to feel abit dizzy and thought omg omg omg shit!!! I think I was getting a little tipsy and was really worried cause I didn't want to get more tipsy than that otherwise I would not be able to enjoy the tramcar restaurant experience properly!! Then I started giggling/laughing or whatever and random things and then the waitress came and ask how was the food and if there was any special occasion dining in the tramcar restaurant and I couldn't reply her but all I do was laugh! omg I felt like an idiot after that. I can't remember how much I drank, it wasn't alot but I guess because I haven't eaten anything, the alcohol must have got onto me lol. Lucky though, by the time the main course came I was back to my sane self again otherwise I would have missed out on the interesting & funny conversation. Besides, by the end of the day I was so full I'm glad I did go with an empty stomach!

Enjoying the tramcar ride while being tipsy and with great company

I have a few more events to write about but I think I will put them up for the next post cause it will be a pretty long one too. To be continued! I can't believe its almost May, a month to the middle of the year. This year (as with every other years actually) have passed by so fast! Its almost winter.

Hello?

Melbourne I am here! This time with packing, I had both space & weight constraints! Too long story to write it out, so I had to keep rearranging my stuff to maximise up all the space and then it was all pretty much done done deal =)

Today was one of the hottest day in Melbourne, temperatures reaching up to 46.4 celcius! It was so hot. I was travelling back from the city, I thought I would almost die from the hot wind constantly blowing my face. At one point, I wish I could sweat more because it actually made me feel cooler - -"

Tomorrow would be a much cooler day, I think I know just what I want to do. Lovely mornings, my resolution? ;P
